TERMS
Using Typelesson
Typelesson is free to use and provided as-is. These terms are deliberately short, and they describe how the service actually behaves.
The service
Typelesson is a typing tutor. It is offered without charge and without warranty. It may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time — it runs on free hosting tiers, so outages are possible and should be expected.
Accounts
An account is optional and unlocks nothing: every lesson, test and game works without one. Signing in goes through Google, GitHub or Discord, so the account you use there is the account here — keep it to yourself, because anyone who can sign in as you there can sign in as you here, and there is no separate password to change. Choose a username that is not offensive, impersonating, or someone else’s; usernames that break this can be removed.
Leaderboards
Scores are submitted by your browser and are not cryptographically verified. Please do not submit fabricated results. Accounts found manipulating leaderboards may have scores removed or the account deleted. Leaderboards are for fun and are not a competitive record.
Your data
Without an account nothing leaves your device. With one, the privacy page describes exactly what is stored and how to have it deleted. We do not sell data and there is no advertising.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the service, automate abusive volumes of requests, or access data belonging to other users. Rate limits and per-account storage caps are enforced.
Content
The lessons, practice passages, word lists, games and interface are original work. Keyboard layouts are functional specifications and word frequency data is factual; neither is claimed as ours. See ATTRIBUTION.md in the repository for detail.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Typelesson is provided without liability for loss of data, interrupted service, or anything arising from its use. Your practice data is not backed up on your behalf — use the export in Settings if it matters to you.
