Practising Nepali with games
Nepali is written in the Devanagari script, whose marks combine with base letters into single written units — so one keystroke is not one character on screen.
The thing that surprises people about Nepali is the arithmetic. A word that looks like 2.1 units on screen took more keystrokes than that, because Devanagari vowel signs and conjunct forms are typed as separate presses and then rendered together. Accuracy matters more than usual here: an error inside a cluster is not always visible at a glance.
Games here are practice with a failure condition, not a different activity: same words as the speed test, same script, same layout. The speed test and the games draw on one bank of 46 common Nepali words — 37 distinct characters in all, averaging 2.1 written units per word. Only the pacing changes, and it changes upward — four clean hits raise the level, and nothing lowers it again.
Frequency beats duration in Nepali by a wider margin than in most languages, because what you are building is a composing order and composing orders decay quickly between sessions. Ten minutes daily will take you further than an hour on Sunday.
The distribution is lopsided, which is the useful part. Across the 46 practice words, 37 distinct characters appear — and the single most common accounts for about 10% of every letter typed, with the top ten covering roughly 60%. Drilling the frequent ones first is where almost all of the benefit is.

Nepali is written in Devanagari and can be typed on InScript, the same phonetic arrangement used for Hindi and Marathi. It is not, however, the layout most Nepali typists learned.
Nepali Traditional — sometimes called the Nepali typewriter layout — descends from mechanical typewriters and arranges characters by how often Nepali uses them rather than by phonetic order. It remains common in Nepal, particularly in government and print, for the same reason QWERTY persists everywhere: an installed base of people who already know it.
The practical consequence is that "learning to type Nepali" is an ambiguous phrase, and it is worth finding out which layout the people around you use before investing weeks in the other one.

Do I need a Nepali keyboard?
No. Printed Devanagari keycaps are sold and they are not worth it for a touch typist: you are trying to learn a map, and a visible map delays that. Select the Devanagari InScript layout in your system settings and use the on-screen guide below instead, which you can turn off once it stops helping.

Is Nepali hard to type?
Harder than a one-key-one-letter language, and for a specific reason rather than a vague one: marks combine, so a written unit takes several presses in a fixed order. The bank here averages 2.1 units per word with a fairly compact inventory of 37 characters across the practice bank. The keystroke count is higher than the visible length suggests, which is what makes early progress feel slower than it is.
Does the difficulty ever stop rising?
There is a ceiling, and almost nobody meets it. In practice a round ends because the pace passed what you can hold rather than because the game ran out of levels — which is the intended shape, since a game that ends on a timer tells you nothing about your typing.
Will playing improve my Nepali typing?
It will improve your recall of keys you have already drilled, which is a real and specific benefit. It will not build the finger positions in the first place — pressure is a poor teacher and an excellent examiner. Use the lessons to learn a key and a game to find out whether you actually did.
Do the games use real Nepali words?
Yes — all three draw on the same bank of common Nepali words the speed test samples. Nothing is generated or transliterated for the sake of the game, so a score here means the same thing as a score there.
